Zaahir Essa is a South African development driver who is contesting his 4th Formula Vee season in 2010. After entering the sport in 2007 with the Lotto Development Team, he has been gathering speed and experience to challenge at the head of the field. Round 6 of 8 of the championship was at Phakisa on the 7th of August. Zaahir managed a win in the first heat. Despite crossing the line in the lead of the second heat, he was deemed to have overtaken under yellow flag conditions and penalised. With 2 rounds to go, he lies 8 points behind championship leader Peter Hills. The next race takes place at Kyalami on the 18th of September. News and pics updated. |
