Zaahir Essa, 25, is a South African development driver who is contesting his 4th
Formula Vee season in 2010. After entering the sport in 2007 with the Lotto
Development Team, he has been gathering speed and experience to challenge at the
head of the field.

Round 5 of 8 of the championship was at Lichtenburg on the 3rd of July. Zaahir
managed two 2nd places amidst growing clutch problems. He now lies 2 points behind
Peter Hills in the championship, with the next race to take place at Phakisa on the 7th
